The Road Ahead by Thomas Merton
My
Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead
of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really
know myself, and the fact that I think I am following your will does
not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to
please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in
all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from
that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the
right road, though I may know nothing about it. Therefore, I will
trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of
death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never
leave me to fact my perils alone. Amen.
RPC Happenings!
Our 125th Year Celebration Begins . . . .
Our year of celebration to honor the life of Rockledge Presbyterian Church will begin on Pentecost Sunday, May 31. Wear red
to signify both Pentecost and the celebratory nature of the day. On
that day there will be only one worship service, at 10 a.m. It will be followed by a special luncheon program in Calvin Hall. Lunch will be in our traditional pot luck style with the main dish provided by the church.
The
luncheon program will focus on the history of Rockledge Presbyterian
Church, the recognition of members instrumental in the successful
operation and growth of the church throughout the years, and a sharing
session in which all will be invited to recall church memories that
have proved to be personally unforgettable. Please search your memory banks and photo albums so that you can come prepared with a vivid recollection and images to share.

Bob Rowe Scholarship applications
are now being accepted for the 2009-2010 school year! Rockledge
Presbyterian Church members or active youth within the church are
eligible to apply if they are seeking a degree or certification in a
post-high school program. Applications are available in the church
office or can be downloaded by clicking here. Completed applications should be delivered or mailed to the church office by July 12, 2009
